If you're an office administrator or a buyer for a mid-sized company who's suddenly asked to source something like a crane, a heavy-duty air compressor, or specialized parts like hydraulic pumps, you know the feeling. It's a lot of pressure. You're not a project manager on a job site, but you're the one making the purchase happen. You need to get it right, and you need to do it without making a costly mistake.

This checklist is for you. It's not a textbook guide.
